North Brabant has become a new partner of PRIMO Europe. It is a province of the Netherlands, located in the south of the country, bordered by Belgium in the south, the Meuse River (Maas) in the north, Limburg in the east and Zeeland in the west. It has 2,5 million inhabitants and is a leading region in Europe in logistics and high technology. North Brabant is currently divided into 68 municipalities.
The partnership is important to express the importance of risk management. Wil Rutten, CEO: “Risk are emerging at all levels, but the approach of PRIMO is for me the crucial one. It connects political ambition to managerial skills and capacities and is focussed strongly on solutions and taking the chances.
We have to manage uncertaintees if want to be succesful. I cannot explain it more simple. We will contribute knowledge and skills to the Risk Survey, because we think it is important to listen to our colleagues. What do they sense and say. Moreover Marieke de Kort is one of our trainees in the programme we developed with municipalities and water management organisations.
This programme, I believe, is the future for best exchange of knowledge and a maximum of be the future for a more general approach of governmental projects and programmes. Also important is the international cooperation. For North Brabant is very internationally focussed. Marieke will be working close the PRIMO Europe board and in that she will get the experience in and the flavour of Europe.”
